Information is classified as to its sensitivity when it is
created. Examples include the standard classification processes in most
large businesses and government agencies, the automated classification of
information in trusted systems based on the information it is derived from,
and the declassification process performed by the government in order to
periodically reassess the sensitivity of information.
Complexity: The process of determining proper classification of information
is quite complex and normally requires human experts who are trained in the
field.
