Secure channels are specially devised communications channels
between parties that provide a high degree of assurance that communications
security properties are in place. Examples include trusted channels between
a user and an operating system required for the implementation of trusted
computing bases, cryptographically secured communication channels used in a
wide range of circumstances, and physically secured communications paths
controlled by gas-filled tubes which lose their communications properties if
altered.
Complexity: In general, trusted channels can be as complex as general
informational and physical properties.
