How to use ForensiX

• To install:

  • From the CD-ROM
    • mount -t isso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt
    • cd /
    • tar -xvpf /mnt/ForensiX.tar
    • umount /mnt
  • Register the product
    • enter your registration information in the file: /ForensiX/registration
  • Install the product
    • cd /ForensiX/
    • ./install
    • Select an <install-directory>

• ForensiX runs under X1/Linux

  • ForensiX runs as ‘root’

• To run:

  • cd <install-directory>
  • ./go

• ForensiX is registered by IP address

  • Each machine requires a separate registration
  • License is for the IP address and machine that it is first installed on
