Ease-a-phone PBX Audit

Ease-a-phone is a small-business and small hotel PBX system. It is limited to 6 CO lines and 16 extensions, but has many features of larger PBX systems.

It is highly advisable that the general purpose checklist be reviewed along with this one since this checklist only identifies PBX-specific areas not covered in the general PBX purpose checklist.



Check all that apply:
The PBX central control unit, CO line 11, and the wire between them are physically secured.
All wires between the PBX central control unit and the incoming termination pannel are physically secured.
Extensions not permitted to access CO lines are properly configured.
Extensions not permitted to operate door-phone (x31 and x32) are properly configured.
Prohibited area codes include 900 and 700.
Prohibited exchanges include 976 and other for-fee exchange codes.
The main incoming line is on CO1 and extension 11 is attached to a non-system telephone instrument.
Directed call pickup for COs not in the same pickup group as the extension are disabled.
Call park retrieve is disabled for extensions not permitted to use COs.
All callers are aware that calls on hold not to be transferred require the use of the exclusive hold feature.
Conference calling is disabled for local-use-only extensions.
Call transfer is restricted to extensions within separate calling groups.
Paging all extensions is disabled except from authorized extensions.
Paging external is disabled except for authorized extensions.
Flash time is set to 0 for extensions not permitted to use external PBX features.
Pules-tone conversion is disabled for extensions not permitted to use external PBX features.
Flexible CO button is disabled.
Auto CO hunting is disabled for extensions not permitted to use external PBX features.
Station Message Detail Recording is enabled for all COs and extensions.
Account code is in forced mode.
Data line security is forced off for non-data lines and forced on for data lines.
Dial Call Pickup Deny is set for extensions of users with confidentiality requirements.
Users are trained in the use of the Do Not Disturb feature.
Night and Day service versions of all parameters are properly set.
The clock is accurately set.
The times for shifting between day and night service are properly set.
A procedure is in place for resetting system time for shifts to and from daylight savings time in affected areas.
Users are trained in the use of the redial feature and its possible abuse.
Users are trained in the proper operation of proprietary telephones.
