I believe the answer to your question is yes, Y2K will effect other countries
and ex-patriot computers as it will us. It is a computer acrchitecture issue,
and the architecture on those in France, Austrailia or Russia is similar if not
identical to ours - most likely because, as you point out, they acquired it from
us in some way. The real issue is not "will they have this same problem" - that
is in my mind a given. It is rather "what, if anything, are they doing about
it".

One possible source of information on this can be found at
"http://www.securityforum.org/. This is the home page of the Information
Security Forum, a consortium of nearly 300 of the largest corporations in
Europe, with US members also. They have information on this subject on their
website.

I am just a citizen interested in IT and have no special background other
than medicine. I have a question that I have not seen dealt with anywhere.
The US is dealing with the Y2K problem and the military has dealt with it
also. What about other countries? Do they have a Y2K problem too? Isn't
there technology based if not stolen from us? Will their missiles and
systems be working correctly?
