Hi all,

When reading an editorial in the Int'l H. Tribune during the last few days, an interesting aspect it noted was the trend, covering the last few years, of the US Military (perhaps it was focused only on the Navy, I can't remember) actions in the wake of "media events" similar to this, of looking for and absolving commanders via any excuse possible, which reduced the dignity and force of command status.

IE: If you're Captain Bligh these days, the higher-up muckety-mucks (sorry for the tech talk) would excuse away the conditions that led to the mutiny ... perhaps.

So, this writer in the IHT was pointing out that this case may swing the pendulum back to it was "Waddle's fault" no matter what else gets found ... and this 'trial' may end up with a court-martial ...

Interesting situation,

Drew
