Not to muddy the water, but some control over hallucinogens may well be
feasible.  If you look up the MKULTRA project, one of the interesting
findings was in the use of certain frequencies to induce the belief and
indeed the visualization of ghosts.  I kid you not.  We may well be able
to drive people into states where they see things that do not exist.
