Because, - the 21 highly respected persons (TM) out there (up there?) do not do much harm do the average US citizens' breakfast - even if the evil cyber-dwarf strikes, the US is too strong a nation to "disintegrate and vanish (TM)" (or what is your preferred fear?) - a much greater threat to "national security" than 21 clueless leaders is that there are not many more than another 21 who have a clue: the guys who messed up with your education system did much more harm to the US than Dr. Rice, IMHO. Look at the numbers of computer science students vs. fitness trainer sciences (or whatever). If that does not scare you worse than the 21 guys, then you are an invaluable example of the hammer/nail problem. The day the US will no longer attract skilled young asians and europeans will be the real day of national security crisis.
