Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit According to several US news channels the Florida Anthrax cases are from engineered strains of Anthrax - but there's a lot more. They also assert that the CDC did not respond quickly to the Anthrax, that they misassociated it with natural strains, that they kept telling people that everything was OK and that there was no danger even though it was not true, and that they are still downplaying the incident. Add to this that the total available amount of appropriate antibiotic in the county was inadequate and you have a recepie for disaster. As an aside, the claims that the response process whereby you inoculate in the radius of an incident is effective is highly questionable in the case of things with delayed symptoms and long distance travel, and add to this the fact that the total response capability is fairly limited, and you have the potential for multiple distributed attacks overwhelming the total capacity. The government response seems to be along the lines of keeping people quelled and pacified.
