Enter Al-Qaida Alliance on cyber battlefield

STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE

HYDERABAD, Oct. 23. – The war of cyber wits has begun, and Al-Qaida
Alliance Online has fired its first salvo against high-profile Indian
websites. Today morning, Pakistan Hackers' Club defaced
www.zeenews.com, protesting against its "anti-Pakistan propaganda".
Soon thereafter, G-Force defaced www.india-today.com, posting anti-
India graffiti. The group couldn't restore the site till this evening.
It said a majority of the 1,500 websites that it intends to hack will be
Indian. In an e-mail exchange with this correspondent yesterday night,
the group said 25 hackers belonging to Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan
and Kashmir will be working on defacing sites. Asked when they would
start the attacks, G-Force replied, "Pretty soon; maybe today."
