The Taliban officials claim that its troops are pursuing an American advisor who had arrived in Afghanistan with the unit led by one of the opposition leaders Abdul Haq. RIA Novosti correspondent reports that the Taliban considers the capturing and execution of prominent Pushto field commander Abdul Haq and his 50 followers as their biggest victory. The unit was ambushed in the late hours of Thursday in the Afghan province of Logar, the place where Haq's relatives live. The Taliban alleges that American helicopters attacked Taliban positions in order to help Haq's unit break out of the besiegement. General Abdul Haq was a member of the Afghan government until 1994, then he moved to Dubai and became a businessman. A month ago, he came to Pakistan and on October 24, he went to Afghanistan accompanied by his followers. ------------------------ Yahoo!
