Pak cyber terrorism 'injures' 20 Indian web sites
IndiaExpress Bureau, 12/27/2001
<a href="http://www.indiaexpress.com/news/technology/20011224-0.html">http://www.indiaexpress.com/news/technology/20011224-0.html>

In an invasion that created mayhem on Indian Internet space, 20 Indian
websites suffered the mortification of being hacked on December 22 and
23 by the so-called "Anti India Crew" (AIC) and "World Fantabulous
Defacers" (WFD), both Pakistan-based outfits of software engineers.
The hardest hit was www.idbi.com, which belongs to the Industrial
Development Bank of India, one of India's premier financial
institutions.

This is the latest in a series of hackings that these two groups have
undertaken this month. Among their other " victims" include the
Bangalore-based Indian Institute of Science, The Tribune newspaper, and
the Engineering Export Promotion Council.

As many as 20 Indian sites suffered another Pakistani invasion in
November., The aggressor in question was again Pakistan-based Silver
Lords. Among the victims were T-Series, Super Cassettes, MSEB and the
Steel Authority of India sites.
Interestingly the hacking is limited to the index page (or the main
page) of the website. The remainder of the site is unharmed.

The defaced IDBI site had a message, which 'proclaimed' that the
defacement was retaliation for the anti-Pakistani attitude of India to
the December 13 attack on Parliament.
HACKED. A message for the Indian government from AIC.
Don't ever ignore our warnings to " watch your back" again... in the
name of all that's sacred to you. Didn't we warn you that we'd be
getting you on high profile grounds, but unfortunately your arrogance
and ignorance to network security and ohhh yeah, lame administration
caused you to overlook your own weaknesses.
" You aren't even " close" to the power that your media projects India
to be. Wish you could see the other side of the mirror... how true we
have proven this today. Shame on you... shame on you all for leaving
your financial institutions unguarded. Your own back bones are bare and
you call yourselves nuke babes?"
