The bureau's National Infrastructure Protection Center said Wednesday that a computer belonging to a person with "indirect ties" to Osama bin Laden contained architectural and engineering software as it related to dams and other water-retaining structures. The FBI did not say where the computer was found or who owned it. Investigators said law-enforcement and intelligence agencies also received indications that al-Qaida terrorists have sought information on automated systems, called supervisory control and data acquisition networks, controlling water supplies and wastewater facilities in the United States and overseas. The FBI said terrorists apparently sought the information from Web sites. The NIPC, which published the warning Wednesday, is the bureau's top cyber-security unit. The NIPC said investigators also believe terrorists sought information from Web sites about unspecified insecticides and pest-control products. President Bush cautioned in his State of the Union address that officials found diagrams in Afghanistan of American nuclear plants and public water supplies. The FBI warned law enforcement agencies earlier this month to be especially vigilant around utilities, nuclear plants and water facilities. ------------------ http://all.net/ Your use of Yahoo!
