Time and Effort: Typically one or two part-time people.
Group Size: 1-10 can be larger but only loose associations
Other resources: Lots of Internet-based resources and personal contacts. The most important asset is their brains.
They tend to be helpful more than anything - and very interested in new knowledge. They would not intentionally harm anybody - or they are not really hackers. The media and most people use this as a generic term for all computer attackers - but this is misleading.
