Turning it around

• We don't have to slide down the slippery slope

  • We are sliding increasingly toward degradation of freedoms and rights - as desired by many in power
  • But the battle for our freedom is not yet lost

• But we have to watch carefully

  • The key to survival is openness
  • But how do we get both openness AND secrecy?

• Don't take the easy answers and simple questions

  • It's time that we think hard about these issues
  • Sound bytes will not solve this
  • Dogma and posturing won't solve this
