SIGINT

Examples of SIGINT...
1 = a large antenna array of the sort so important to SIGINT.
2 = the famous "Engima" machine from World War II. This was a German machine to encode secret radio messages, but unknown to the Germans, the Allies were able to break the code and read some of Nazi Germany's most secret radio messages. Code-making and code-breaking, called "cryptology" is extremely important to SIGINT.
3 = a radio operator at work. Are his messages being intercepted?
4 = a radar antenna. Even radio signals that do not carry human messages, such as a radar signal, can reveal a great deal about an enemy. For instance, detecting radar signals can tell where enemy air defences have been set up.
