The Wall Street Journal asserts Mr. Dave Dittrich is "the world's foremost
expert on denial-of-service, or D.O.S., attacks." Wow!

I used to acknowledge Dr. Fred Cohen as the world's foremost authority, but
I obviously made a mistake. I naively thought Cohen coined the phrase
"distributed coordinated attacks" (DCAs) some years back ... yet antivirus
firms switched to "distributed denial-of-service attacks" (DDoSs) when the
press latched onto it. Clearly, you did NOT coin DCA as a phrase.

(Did I say antivirus firms? My bad. I meant to include all of the computer
security firms' press releases in my statement.)

My, how the mighty have fallen. Burn your Ph.D., Fred -- you've been
replaced by "a 38yr-old software engineer at the University of Washington
whose job is to make sure the campus network runs smoothly." I obviously
wasted my time in 1997 when I attended one of your DCA lectures...
