Cyber 'war' may lead to real thing
Tit-for-tat attacks on government websites by China and Taiwan are dangerous
and have the potential of causing a real conflict, say experts.
THE war being waged between China and Taiwan in cyberspace, which led to

government websites on both sides being hacked, could well lead to a real war,
some analysts have warned.

Trap Doors and Saboteurs
Just when many IT managers were being comforted by the thought that the
Y2K bug in their firm's computer systems had been exterminated, another
peril seems to be emerging. In recent testimony before the Senate's
Special Committee on the Year 2000, Michael Vatis, director of the FBI's
National Infrastructure Protection Center, said that companies that
outsourced their Y2K fixes may be vulnerable to sabotage.
