1) Bush has started to indicate that those who would do violence to
Muslums in the US will be arrested and should not do so. This was a bit
late but I for one am glad to see it and hope to see much more of it.

2) In Europe, one journalist expresses that the Europeans are far more
confident in the US leadership "now that Colin Powell is permamanently
at Bush's side."

3) Arafat declared a ceasefire - Israel immediately followed - and now
the violence has apparently stopped in that conflict. I can only
presume that this is as clear an indicator as we can get that Arafat is
in control of the Palestinian side of things. I imagine they were
concerned about being labelled as terrorists.

4) US stocks have stabalized and life goes on more or less as before.
The money lost in the airlines will be made up in the defense
industries. Of course the US budget is certain to be in deficit
spending and the Social Security 'lock box' has now been picked, but
this is consistent with all Republican governments in the last 30 years.

5) Information operations have recommensed, this time with cyber attacks
from a far more complex combined virus than the Code Red. It spreads
with multiple infection vectors, scans for more vulnerabilities, goes
faster, and attacks a broader spectrum of IP addresses more quickly.

6) Happy New Year to all of our Jewish readers.
