INTRO: PRESIDENT BUSH SAYS THE UNITED STATES FAVORS A PALESTINIAN
STATE, SO LONG ASTHE RIGHT FOR ISRAEL TO EXIST IS RESPECTED.
COMMENTATOR CAL THOMAS SAYS SUCH APRONOUNCEMENT LOOKS LIKE A REWARD
FOR TERRORISM.
THOMAS:THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION APPEARS TO HAVE BOUGHT INTO THE MYTH
THAT ISRAEL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND
POSSIBLY THE TERROST ACTS OF SEPTEMBER 11. PERHAPS SOMEONE COULD
EXPLAIN WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UNREST, EVEN WARS, PRIOR TO 1948
WHEN ISRAEL WAS RE-ESTABLISHED ON LAND THAT IS HER ANCIENT HERITAGE?
ARAFAT HAS VIOLATED EVERY AGREEMENT HE HAS SIGNED. JUST YESTERDAY,
PALESTINIAN GUNMEN MURDERED TWO AND WOUNDED FIFTEEN ISRAELIS IN A
TERROR ATTACK ON THEIR VILLAGE. IT APPARENTLY DOESN'T MATTER EXCEPT TO
THE DEAD AND THEIR RELATIVES. WE'RE PRESSING AHEAD ANYWAY TO GIVE
LEGITIMACY TO A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T JUST WANT THEIR OWN STATE.
THEY WANT THE JEWISH STATE, AS WELL. THEY SAY SO AND PROVE THEY MEAN
WHAT THEY SAY BY THEIR ACTIONS.
HOW MANY MORE DEATHS ON ISRAELI AND AMERICAN SOIL WILL IT TAKE BEFORE
OUR POLITICIANS REALIZE THESE PEOPLE MEAN BUSINESS?
