All are increasingly dependent on properly operating computers, which seems to be the main focus so far of InfraGard. Physical security of buildings also would be an area to cover, said Iris Patton, InfraGard Houston's vice president and a top Shell information security official. But so far the topics have been mostly cyber-related. The group has been meeting monthly since March and wants more members. It will be holding a special conference Oct. 24-25 at Rice University. The topic will be network and Internet threats, including "e-info warfare," computer forensics and economic espionage. Patton said that in the past, top executives of many companies didn't take "cyber-terror" threats seriously - but no more.
