WORLD. 17 Nov -16 Dec 2001 The beginning of the month-long religious fast of Muslims around the world is an unofficial deadline for the United States to stop bombing Afghanistan. The Muslim world is increasingly denouncing the assault on Taliban strongholds, retaliation by the United States for the terror attacks on Sep 11 and an attempt to force Afghanistan to hand over terrorist suspect Mohammed Bin Laden. Several Muslim leaders have asked the United States to stop the bombing, and predict that continuing the attacks, especially into the holy month, increases the odds of more terror attacks. United Nations agencies also wants the bombing stopped, saying that millions of Afghans face starvation unless stocks of food aid can be replenished and the exodus of refugees halted. 10/01 ------------------ http://all.net/ Your use of Yahoo!
