Islam is a religion of love and brotherhood. however through the ages ambitious people have distorted it to achieve their political objectives. In the case of the Taliban it is to subjugate the Afghan people and bend them to their will preserving their peculiar brand and interpretation of Islamic theocracy. Apologies, my statement was hyperbole. From what I have read, strictly speaking, the Taliban qualify as Muslims. My point was to argue that their practice of the faith is rather on the fringe with regard to the mainstream Islamic community. I hope I am right in this :) ____tony____ Tony Bartoletti 925-422-3881 <azb@llnl.gov> Information Operations, Warfare and Assurance Center Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Livermore, CA 94551-9900 Yahoo!
