The Menus Submenu

The / menu allows you to change the appearance of the menus. You can alter the border format, the colors, the sounds, the messages, the use of help, the language, and the mouse movement sensitivity, and can save the current configuration or restore the previous configuration. Operation of this menu is pretty much self-explanatory, and we encourage the user to experiment.

The / selection allows you to select different boarders for the menus. By selecting boarders in conjunction with /, you can give the menus a wide range of different appearances.

/ allows you to select subliminal messages printed for very short periods of time between menus. Subliminal messages can be seen by the subconscious, but flash on the screen so quickly that you don't consciously notice them. This is normally used to generate emotional states in the user. By default, / uses a copyright notice as the subliminal message to encourage users to only use legal copies.

/ allows you to select the sort of sound used when moving between menu selections. The default `clicking' sound can be replaced by a tone, a `ding-dong' sound, or silence.

/ toggles between placing help lines at the bottom of the screen for every menu selection and ignoring help messages, while / toggles between very simply and fast menus, and the full featured menus used by default. For slower computers, fast menus without help make a substantial performance difference, particularly during telephone scripts where real-time performance is important.

The / selection loads auxiliary language libraries that allow / to operate on any / in any language all around the world. This does not apply to single language versions.

The / selection allows you to select the amount of mouse movement that corresponds to menu movement. Smaller values for mouse speed corresponds to faster menu movement.

When you exit the / menu, the current menu state is saved for future use, but if you make a configuration mistake you may want to recover the last saved menu state. This is done by selecting /.
